The part pLay plays in our lives, DvT and therapeutic encounters

The role of play in human development has been comprehensively researched in the past, but in recent years the phenomenon of play is once again taking center stage. How would you define the role of play^playfulness^playability in your life, DvT and therapeutic encounters? How does play play-out and impact us and others we encounter in the playspace? And what were observations, experiences and research findings that brought our distinguished panelists to reexamine the concept of play?

Exploring play is always welcome in a DvT event and even more so when much time will be dedicated to stirring a playful dialogue amongst us all.

Prof. Mooli Lahad, 2 PhDs one in Psychology and the other in human & life science. Dramatherapist, Bibliotherapist. He is a Senior medical and education psychologist, professor of dramatherapy and psychology at Tel Hai College, Israel. The founder and president of the Community Stress Prevention Center (CSPC); has developed the BASIC PH and the 6 Parts story making (6PSM) models; and developed the SEE FAR CBT method for the treatment of PTSD.

Rinat Feniger Schaal, Ph,D. is a lecturer, researcher and leads the Master’s program for Dramatherapy at the school of creative arts therapies at Haifa University, Israel.  She is a research fellow at the Center for the Study of Child

research mainly focuses on play, drama and movement. In her clinical practice Dr. Feniger-Schaal specialises in working with people with cognitive impairment and mental health problems.

Jason Butler, PhD, RDT-BCT is coordinator of the drama therapy program at Lesley University.He is a graduate of the Institute of Developmental Transformations and currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of The Arts in Psychotherapy.

Gideon Zehavi, MA, RDT/BCT is a seasoned DvT practitioner, supervisor and lecturer. He is a graduate of the Institute of Developmental Transformations, Director of the Israeli Institute for Developmental Transformation and the Training Director of DvT Cha, Shen Zhen, China.
